Digital Menu Board Costs for UK Businesses
The useful question is not just how much a screen costs. It is what your restaurant, café or takeaway needs to keep its menu readable and up to date.
Define the same project before comparing prices
Record the number of sites and screens, counter dimensions, operating hours and viewing distance. Add a sample menu and identify whether each location needs different prices or opening times. These details create a common basis for supplier quotations.
Separate initial and recurring costs
Initial items may include displays, media players, brackets, cabling, configuration and content preparation. Recurring items may include software licences, managed content and agreed support. Ask whether installation, training and travel are included or quoted separately. Record all approved prices in GBP, state the VAT position and show the period covered. A hardware-only price cannot be compared directly with a managed monthly package.
Ask what happens after a menu change
Who edits the content? Who checks prices? Who publishes to each site? Include these tasks in the demonstration and quotation. A low initial price can still leave significant work with your team; record responsibilities rather than assuming they are included.
Prepare a comparable enquiry
Send a counter photograph, sample menu, location list and preferred timescale. Request a line-by-line scope and clear renewal terms. No standard price is quoted here because the equipment and service requirements need to be established for the project.
